Antique Quilt Oven Mitt - A

Details

This oven mitt hot pad is made from an antique, hand-stitched quilt. The quilt fabric has been carefully washed and dried. As an antique item, it does have slight imperfections, small areas of fading, and minimal loose stitching; however, it is in generally good condition. The fabric colors are green and white. The lining is a cream cotton fabric with a faint leaf pattern.

The mitt is constructed (on both sides) with a layer of quilt on the outside (including original batting and backing), then a layer of Insul-Bright thermal lining, and then the inner lining fabric that touches the hand when inserted. There is a small loop at the cuff for hanging.

Size

This oven mitt is considered “medium” sized and will likely fit and average sized female hand. The outside measures approximately 13” long, 4” across the fingers, and 6” across the palm at the thumb joint.
